Eura has around 11,600 residents and lies in the southern part of Satakunta. Its municipal centre is made up of the Eura church village and Kauttua, whose ironworks history reaches all the way back to 1689. Over the years Hinnerjoki, Honkilahti and Kiukainen have been merged into the municipality, and alongside these villages the area is home to the well-known Kauttua ironworks park with its old wooden houses. Its neighbours include Säkylä and Eurajoki. The building stock of Eura is many-layered: 19th-century buildings in the ironworks milieu, houses from the post-war reconstruction era, and a great deal of small-house and terraced-house stock from the 1960s to the 1980s.

Eura is a municipality of roughly 11,600 residents in the southern part of Satakunta, and its heart is formed by the Eura church village and by historic Kauttua with its celebrated ironworks park. The municipality also includes the villages of Hinnerjoki, Honkilahti and Kiukainen, and its neighbours include Säkylä and Eurajoki. The building stock is many-layered: old wooden houses in the Kauttua ironworks milieu, houses from the post-war reconstruction era, and a great many small houses and terraced houses from the 1960s to the 1980s. A large share of the buildings in Eura went up before 1994, when the use of asbestos was still commonplace. Asbestos is typically found in floor tiles and their adhesives, in pipe insulation, in wall fillers, in the fixing mortars used behind tiles, and in old boards, which is why an asbestos survey is worth carrying out before a renovation. Because Eura lies outside our actual survey area, we serve the people of Eura with a mail-in asbestos sample (39,90 € plus VAT). The sample is analysed with a precise JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope in accordance with the ISO 22262-1 standard, and the reliable result comes conveniently to your home.

Eura: when to take an asbestos sample

Eura has around 11,600 residents and lies in the southern part of Satakunta. Its municipal centre is made up of the Eura church village and Kauttua, whose ironworks history reaches all the way back to 1689. That is why, in local properties completed before 1994, it is worth confirming whether a material contains asbestos before anything is opened up, sanded down or demolished. A mail-in asbestos sample suits the situation where the suspicion falls on one clearly identified material and you want a reliable laboratory result before the renovation goes any further.

Eura: which materials to check before renovating

Asbestos is typically found in floor tiles and their adhesives, in pipe insulation, in wall fillers, in the fixing mortars used behind tiles, and in old boards, which is why an asbestos survey is worth carrying out before a renovation. Take the sample from the exact material the renovation touches: an old vinyl floor, the adhesive behind a tile, pipe insulation, a filler, a facade panel or a roofing material. Asbestos cannot be identified reliably by eye, so a laboratory test is the only dependable way to tell an ordinary building material from one that contains asbestos.

Eura: asbestos sampling by post

Eura lies outside the area we cover with on-site surveys, so we serve the town with a mail-in asbestos sample instead. You take a small material sample following our instructions, post it to the laboratory and receive the result by email. The price is 39,90 € + VAT per sample. The analysis is carried out with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope in accordance with the ISO 22262-1 standard, so you get a clear statement on whether the material examined contains asbestos.
