Asbestos survey in Porvoo

An asbestos survey is relevant in Porvoo whenever a renovation or demolition is being planned for a building constructed before 1994. Asbestos was widely used in Finnish construction from the 1920s right up until 1992, so the majority of the town's older building stock may contain asbestos-containing materials. These are found in floor tiles, waterproofing membranes, pipe insulation and tile adhesive, among other places. Finnish Government Decree 798/2015 requires an asbestos survey before demolition or renovation work begins, if the presence of asbestos cannot be ruled out. The requirement applies to detached houses, terraced houses and housing companies alike. The survey protects workers and residents from health risks and ensures that work at properties in Porvoo can be carried out lawfully and safely.

An asbestos survey in Porvoo begins with a qualified surveyor arriving at the property at the agreed time. The surveyor systematically examines the building and identifies materials that may contain asbestos. The necessary samples are taken from these carefully and cleanly, so that any damage is kept to a minimum. The samples taken are sent to the OneLab laboratory, where they are analysed with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope in accordance with the international ISO 22262-1 standard. This precise, laboratory-based analysis gives an accurate and reliable result on whether the material contains asbestos. Once the analysis is complete, you receive a clear written report straight to your email, quickly. The report states where asbestos was found and what action the renovation or demolition requires. The whole process is handled smoothly through a single point of contact.

AsbestiPro's asbestos survey in Porvoo is fixed-price, at 239 euros incl. VAT, so the costs are clear in advance with no surprises. The price includes the on-site survey visit, all necessary samples, laboratory analysis at OneLab, travel costs, VAT, and the finished written report. So you don't pay separately for travel or the number of samples. For demolition sites, where the survey is more extensive than usual and requires more detailed documentation, 100 euros is added to the price. If you'd like to take the sample yourself, for example for a single suspect material, a more affordable option is also available: a self-taken asbestos sample costs 39,90 euros plus VAT. This lets you choose the solution that fits your situation, whether that's a full survey or confirming a single material in your home in Porvoo.
